What to expect rafting with Raft One!
If you have never been whitewater rafting on the Ocoee River, get ready for an adventure of a life time! It is one of America’s past time adventure sports that everyone goes home with a story about.
Here’s what to expect! Expect to get wet. With class 1-4+ rapids on the Ocoee river, rafting is no sport for the folks that melt when they get wet! Expect to work. You do have a guide in all rafts but the guide only steers. You must paddle to make the raft move forward in through the rapids. You can think of the paddling crew as the motor on the boat! Don’t worry though, you can do it! Expect to work a little bit. Some rapids on the Upper Ocoee can’t be floated through and the crew has to paddle hard… But again, you can do it if you try! Lastly, expect to have fun…. Lots of FUN! Rafting is so much fun with Raft One that we see repeat customers coming from many moons away to go rafting multiple time a year. If this is your first time you have got to give it a shot! It’s great fun for everyone from ages 12 to 92! Or 99!

Im coming this weekend! How usually is the water temperature on the Ocoee?
The water temperature for March and early April ranges in the 40s and 50s Fahrenheit. This is pretty cool even on warm days. We have wetsuits and splash jackets you can wear to keep warm but it helps if you have fleece or other non cotton (synthetic) clothing you can wear under your Raft One splash jacket.
How long is the Full Day rafting trip and what is the max number of adults that can fit in one raft?
Mark, The Full Ocoee River trip lasts about 6 hours from the time your trip starts at the Raft One outpost to the time you arrive back at the outpost. We can take up to 7 adults in one raft.
How long will you actually be on the water rafting(Middle Ocoee)? Also, How soon should we arrive on our scheduled trip?
You’ll be on the water for the Middle Ocoee about one and half hours. Try to be at the Raft One outpost about half an hour before your trip time. If you have a big group to sign in you might want to give yourself a little more time. If you’re a small group you can get away with arriving about 15 minutes early.
